A man has been charged with second-degree murder after a woman died following an apparent stabbing at an east-end apartment on Wednesday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the apartment near Broadview and Danforth avenues around 11:30 p.m.
The call was for a 27-year-old woman who had had trouble breathing and later passed out. Police discovered she had a stab wound and she was taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
She was the city’s 28th homicide victim of the year.
The names of the victim and the accused weren’t disclosed because next of kin were still being notified, police said.
